Introducing Andrew Ayres BSc (hons), HCPC, MCh.S
I gained a BSc (hons) in Health and Sport Studies from Huddersfield University in 2003 and subsequently worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. During this time I worked with clients referred to the gym from medical practitioners.
In 2007 I was looking for a new challenge so I decided to train as a Podiatrist and soon graduated from the University of Salford with a 2:1 BSc (hons) degree in podiatry. Due to my previous studies, work in the fitness industry and fell running background I developed a passion for podiatric biomechanics and sports injuries. As a result I attended training courses outside of the usual university study including the RX Biomechanics Summer School.
Away from podiatry I enjoy mountaineering and fell running where I have completed ultra distance trail races, 17 multiday mountain marathons and taken part in expeditions to Arctic Norway, Corsica, Pyrenees and the Alps. If I’m not at home I can usually be found with my wife Anna camping in a tiny tent somewhere in Snowdonia or Lake District.
